Tech Mentoring Workshop

adminUncategorized

This past weekend, Grindr hosted a variety of tech personnel at the Hack4Equality Tech Mentoring Workshop. On Saturday, August, 27 at Grindr’s HQ in West Hollywood, never-before-seen anonymized Grindr data was released. We hope that this invaluable data can be utilized throughout Hack4Equality to aid our participants to create and design products that will change the landscape for LGBTQ communities.

Hack4Equality aims to create real change in the lives of millions of people, and we believe that this workshop was another step towards this. With access to data from Grindr, the White House Opportunity Project, the City of LA, and the City of West Hollywood, participants will be able to ensure their projects are impactful and relevant.

If you didn’t get a chance to attend and would still like to see all the great insights given at the Tech Mentoring Workshop, you can watch the video of the day here:

As we head towards the final demo day on September 25th, we want to encourage everyone to get involved in some capacity. There’s still time to register to participate and join teams. Canadian teams are encouraged! The Canadian Government, as sponsors, are eager to see what Canadian innovation comes out of Hack4Equality. If you haven’t registered, please do so here on Eventbrite, and here on Devpost.

For those who just want to support, you can register to be an attendee on the Science Fair Demo Day and Finals. Events such as these require action to make them a success. Your participation and support make them possible! There are even event day volunteer opportunities for those in the LA area; we’d love to see you there.

Stay tuned for more updates on Hack4Equality, and be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for all the latest!
