Flights booked. Challenges set. Judges locked in. We’re ready for you, Salt Lake City.
Team HackerNest is incredibly excited to be producing CourtHack with the National Center for State Courts (NCSC). We couldn’t be happier to run our first hackathon in Utah. It’ll be at the Matheson Courthouse which is such an awesome venue! Meeting tech nerds in new cities and working towards the greater good? That’s our whole ethos in a nutshell.
Developers, designers, legal professionals, marketers, entrepreneurs, and others motivated by the cause, join up, March 4th is around the corner – courthack.org.
This hackathon will kick off on Friday, March 4th at 5pm, and run right through the night to Saturday, with judging expected to finish around 9pm. Plan your short naps well, just like these guys:
CourtHack, like our other socially beneficial hackathons, takes aim at solving endemic challenges facing the US justice system. The challenge sets put forth by the NCSC and HackerNest include access to justice, legal speed, and predictive analytics and accountability. Of course and as always, the “wild card” category is an open invitation to create your own revolutionary tech solution that’ll make the courts more efficient for everyone.
The prizes are compelling, some cash (always nice!), but also meals with key people in the legal system.
* $5,500 Grand Prize + lunch w/ a Supreme Court Justice
* X4 $2,500 and X4 $1,500 runners-up prizes
* expenses paid trip to Las Vegas to demo at the e-Courts Conference
* meal with a Utah Supreme Court Justice & State Court CIO
* meal with the Utah State Court Administrator and CIO
